VIBB: The Vacuum-Insulated Bag-or-Box for Cold-Chain, Catering and Clean Logistics—No Power, No Fuss

Everyone knows the thermos. VIBB scales that idea for the real world.

A vacuum flask keeps tea hot and milkshakes cold because the vacuum blocks heat transfer. We take that same physics and apply it at the bag, box and cart scale for modern logistics.

Vacuum Insulated Bag-or-Box (VIBB) is our family of passive, power-free carriers built on flexible Vacuum Insulation Panel (VIP) technology. The goal is simple: hold the target temperature—chilled or warm—for long periods without electricity, compressors or dry ice. Dimensions, shapes and fittings are fully customisable; we also offer standard footprints aligned to common crates, gastronorm pans, roll-cage trolleys and parcel formats.

Why VIBB exists—and why it is different

  • No active power. VIBB relies on vacuum insulation, not motors or fans. Where needed, small phase-change packs slot into dedicated sleeves to extend duration or meet strict bands (for example 2–8 °C).
  • Flexible VIP walls. Our ultra-thin VIP layers provide very low thermal conductivity in a light, tough shell; you gain performance without bulk or weight.
  • Real-world handling. Foldable options, reinforced corners, tamper-evident closures and pockets for data loggers—all designed for couriers, caterers and clinical staff.
  • Reusable and repairable. Replaceable liners and sleeves extend service life; every unit is serialised for asset tracking.

Four product types—one physics advantage

1) VIBB Medical Box

  • Purpose: vaccines, biologics, diagnostics, insulin, temperature-sensitive kits.
  • Performance guide: maintains 2–8 °C for six days or more when loaded with pre-conditioned contents at 25 °C ambient.
  • Features: rack-friendly footprint; inserts for vials and pouches; pockets for data loggers; tamper seals for GDP-compliant hand-over.
  • Use cases: clinical trials, home health deliveries, rural outreach, inter-hospital transfers.

2) VIBB Deep Cold Box

  • Purpose: fresh and frozen food, seafood, premium meats, meal-kit logistics.
  • Performance guide: around 72 hours at 2–8 °C in 30 °C ambient with correct pack-out; variants support colder bands with appropriate coolant packs.
  • Features: rigid or foldable shells; pallet and parcel sizes; washable liners for HACCP programmes.
  • Use cases: e-commerce fulfilment, last-mile groceries, farm-to-store runs, airline catering uplifts.

3) VIBB Rolling Cart Cover

  • Purpose: large-volume, moveable insulation for hospitality and relief operations.
  • Performance guide: keeps contents below 10 °C for roughly 15 hours at 35 °C ambient when properly loaded and door discipline is maintained.
  • Features: roll-cage sleeves with magnetic or zip closures; clear document windows; reinforced base panels; optional divider curtains.
  • Use cases: banqueting, stadium service, hospital kitchens, disaster-relief food distribution.

4) VIBB Fresh Bag

  • Purpose: personal and courier use where space and speed matter.
  • Performance guide: up to 6.5 hours below 10 °C at 35 °C ambient with a small phase-change pack and pre-chilled contents.
  • Features: lightweight tote with shoulder carry; organiser pockets; wipe-clean interior.
  • Use cases: grocery runs, rider delivery fleets, picnics, hiking, campus robotics.

Note on power and coolants: VIBB is power-free. For tightly regulated bands or long durations, use our phase-change packs; these are compact, leak-resistant and sized for each model. No dry ice is required for the use-cases above unless your process demands sub-zero shipping.

What VIBB changes for operators

  • Lower operating cost. No diesel or plug-in fees for stand-alone moves; fewer compressor hours on reefers when VIBB boxes ride inside.
  • Stable quality. Smaller temperature swings mean better texture and longer shelf life for foods, and fewer excursions for medical goods.
  • Simpler compliance. Clear pack-out procedures, logger pockets and tamper evidence support GDP and HACCP documentation.
  • Less waste. Reusable VIP carriers replace mountains of single-use EPS and bubble wrap; fewer spoiled loads mean fewer write-offs.
  • Speed and flexibility. Switch between chilled, ambient and warm service by changing the pack-out—same hardware, new job.

Pack-out made easy: five steps that protect performance

  1. Pre-condition. Bring the VIBB and any phase-change packs to the correct start temperature; chill or warm the payload as required.
  2. Load tight. Avoid voids; use dividers to prevent slumping and mixing of warm and cold zones.
  3. Logger in place. Drop a calibrated data logger into the dedicated sleeve or centre of the load.
  4. Seal and label. Close the lid/zip fully; apply tamper tabs; add clear routing and band labels.
  5. Door discipline. Minimise open time during checks; plan pick lists to reduce rummaging.

Sizing, formats and customisation

  • Standard footprints: parcel, crate and roll-cage sizes for quick adoption in existing fleets and racking.
  • Custom geometry: curved corners, slimline totes for tight lockers, pallet-wide bulk boxes, split-lid designs for pick-to-light operations.
  • Accessories: divider kits, gel or PCM packs, loggers, QR/Bar-code IDs, trolley mounts, shelf inserts, cleaning caddies.

(If you have legacy totes or cages, we can sleeve or line them with flexible VIP to upgrade performance without buying new hardware.)

Hygiene, cleaning and durability

  • Food-safe interiors compatible with common sanitisers; smooth seams for easy wipe-down.
  • Replaceable liners and gaskets extend life; spares carry their own part numbers for simple re-order.
  • Puncture protection at edges and bases; optional wheel plates and corner guards for heavy duty.
  • Storage: fold-flat options reduce back-haul bulk and warehouse footprint.

Sustainability and whole-life thinking

  • Fewer spoiled loads means a direct carbon and cost saving.
  • Reusable construction displaces single-use EPS and films.
  • Lower energy draw across your chain when VIBB replaces or supplements powered cooling.
  • Repairable modules keep assets in service; we offer refurbishment kits and take-back options.

Sector-specific sketches

  • NHS community care: VIBB Medical Box carries multi-stop vaccines with a single morning pack-out; logger data attaches to the patient record at day’s end.
  • Seafood exports: Deep Cold Boxes stabilise fresh catch during the road leg to the airport; airline cool rooms do not have to over-work.
  • Stadium catering: Rolling Cart Covers hold salads and desserts at temperature from prep kitchen to concourse stands; queue times ease with faster service.
  • Grocery fleets: Fresh Bags with rider racks keep substitutes and timed deliveries in band; fewer returns for “too warm” complaints.
  • Agri co-ops: pallet-format VIBB boxes buffer harvest temperature from field to packing house, improving grade yield.

Frequently asked by operations teams

How long will my load stay in range?
Duration depends on payload mass, start temperature, ambient conditions and door discipline. Our team provides pack-out tables and simple calculators for your products and routes.

Is VIBB compatible with dry ice?
Where regulations and product needs require sub-zero, we can supply dry-ice-ready variants with appropriate venting and handling notes.

How do I clean it?
Warm water and neutral detergent; approved sanitisers for food and clinical use. Avoid abrasives; wipe dry before storage.

Getting started—pilot in a fortnight

  • Pick one lane or one event.
  • Run a before/after with your current packaging and VIBB using the same payload.
  • Compare temperature traces, spoilage rates, fuel or plug-in use, and handling time.

We will help design the pilot, supply the pack-out SOP, and provide sample units sized to your workflow.
